Your Camping Essentials – What You Need
When you love the outdoors, camping is a fun way to experience and appreciate the wonders of nature. To make sure you get the most out of your trip and enjoy it fully it is important to have checked through your camping essentials list. When you are on your camping trips you can find yourself miles away from the comforts of modern life, so there will certain things you’ll need that won’t be around when you are camping. A camping list – essentials, as I am sure you know, is an important way to ensure you take all the things you’ll need to make your camp safe and enjoyable for yourself and those you are going with.
So, here is what to take while camping
Shelter and Sleeping – A dry, warm and comfortable sleep is what is needed at the end of the day to recover from the exertion and fun of being outdoors for the day. This is why your tent and bedding are utilities that should be on the top of your camping checklist. A tent and your bedding will be essential because you might end up having to rest on the muddy and rough ground, and it might rain too. Also, during the day you may need shade from the sun or somewhere to stay if it rains (hopefully not). A tent is essential for this. It also can protect you from some of the animals that move around at night, and keep out those annoying insects like mosquitoes and also prevent snakes from getting into your bedding unobserved.
Sustenance – You are going to need to take food and water with you to help you keep up your energy levels while you are trekking and visiting the great outdoors. There are some campers who can live off the land and get everything they need from nature – such fruits, vegetable, and fish. For those of us more used to getting what we need from the store it is much better to bring a food supply along! Finding potable water can sometimes prove difficult, so it is important to bring a supply along with you and ensure you monitor how much you have to ensure you have sufficient water to last the entire trip.
Cooking Items – Being able to have a hot meal and prepare your meals is normally important for the success of camping trips. You are going to need a stove to cook your meals or warm them up if they are cold. Having a hot meal at night makes resting at night more enjoyable, and a hot meal for breakfast is a good way to get the day off to a great start. To save room you can consider cooking vessels that double up as plates and bowls so you can eat directly from them, if appropriate. Eating utensils will need to take to make eating easy for all concerned.
First Aid – A first aid kit is essential as you never know what might happen on your camping trip. It will help immensely if someone has an accident and you have properly equipped first aid kit. It can help someone recover or maybe even keep them alive. The little things can mean the difference between life and death when you are out and about experiencing the outdoors. So, a first aid kit is an essential item to have on hand if something unexpected happens.
Hygiene Products – You don’t want to ignore good hygiene practice even when you are outdoors experiencing the natural beauty of the world. You’ll want to at least brush your teeth and wash your face. Plus you’ll want a disinfectant to rub on cuts and bruises you might experience. You’ll also almost certainly want toilet paper! Taking garbage bags with you will help to keep your campsite clean and tidy by having all your trash in one place. It also helps to make sure you don’t mess up the environment
Light – The great outdoors is very different from the local neighborhood, you’ll need your own source of light handy. It will make it much easier to get around when light and visibility is poor, for example when it is foggy. It also helps you if you need to go somewhere in the middle of the night (where you might want to use toilet paper) or to go visit someone in another tent.
Camping Tools – A mallet makes bashing the tent pegs into the ground much easier. Be sure to check you have your pegs and poles for your tent (not great when you forget them). Lighters are essential for starting campfires and stoves (if they don’t have auto firelighter). If you are going to need to dig a hole you’ll require a shovel. A compass and map of the area you are staying will help you find your way around.
You will soon learn what you need to take camping once you have been for the first time. Having all the camping essentials will make the fun and relaxing activity of going camping all the more pleasurable.
