Augustine Adegunloye, who has been in the business of predictions for 13 years, forsees more crises ahead for Nigeria He has been in the business for more than 13 years. In each of those years, Augustine Bola Adegunloye never allowed every opportunity he had to look into the crystal ball for Nigeria and make his findings public to elude him. In the process, he had advised presidents, governors and other political office holders. Many individuals also consult him. In his many years in the crystal ball business, Adegunlolye has made many predictions that have come to pass. He did so recently on the state of the nation. He had, before the present security situation manifested, advised President Goodluck Jonathan to accord security of the nation his attention. He had warned that there would be anarchy serious enough to threaten the corporate existence of the country if the situation was not carefully and adequately handled. Adegunloye has also restated that Nigeria is not yet out of the threatening situation. He stated that the impending crisis would be more than what the country had experienced during the last protest and demonstration against the removal of subsidy on petroleum. He appealed to President Jonathan to shun some people in his government who are giving him negative advice that would not helped in moving the country forward. He stated that the same people would turn to blame him after the expiration of his administration. He wants the president to take urgent steps on the security problem, something urgently or his government stands the risk of popular revolt and demonstrations in the next few weeks. He urged Jonathan not to ignore the suggestion but do something to salvage his image from being damaged in the country. “The president should not take all the abusive languages used on him by the last demonstrators against fuel subsidy removal as a normal thing. It is a bad omen in the spiritual realm,” and advised him to perform some sacrifice to cleanse every damage that may have been done to his personality. The traditional healer also has some words for Olusegun Mimiko, governor of Ondo State. He predicted that the governor would not win the second term election to be held in the state next year. The Egbeji who is also a native of Ondo, in Ondo State, had also predicted the victory of Mimiko at the Appeal Court in 2007 when he was denied his mandate. Adegunloye believes that the governor has disappointed the people of the state because he failed to carry the people that matter along in the scheme of things. “The 2013 governorship elections is around the corner and I can see a tough battle ahead of Mimiko. But he will not win.” Some of the predictions of Adegunloye that have come to pass include the fall of Segun Oni, former governor of Ekiti State and Olagunsoye Oyinlola of Osun State. They were all sacked by the Appeal Court in 2010. The traditional herbalist had made these prediction, in 2009. The same year, he also predicted that unless urgent spiritual cleansing was conducted at Aso Rock, Umar Yar’ Adua who was then president would not be able to end his tenure. Before the assassination attempt on President Barack Obama, in 2008, Adegunloye predicted the incident and urged him to pray fervently. He also warned that unless Tafa Balogun, former Inspector General of Police, IGP, returned to Okija in Anambra State to offer sacrifices to the gods of the land for desecrating the shrine through the order he gave to the police force to raid the area, he might risk death or sack from office. He stated that the manner he was humiliated out of office was a punishment for what he did to the gods. “Balogun would had been forgiven if he had taken the advice I gave him.” The man had also predicted the fall of Nuhu Ribadu, former chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, immediately after the 2007 general elections. In the interview he granted to African Independent Television, AIT, in 1998, which the station could not air because of the fear of being clamped down by the military ruler as it was common then, he advised the late president Sani Abacha, to relinquish power within 24 hours. Unfortunately, Abacha died the following day. The Indian trained herbalist said he is concerned about the survival of Nigeria and has always spoken out on how the country can overcome its problems.
