Olaitan Aromolaran, pastor of the Covenant of Peace Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Ikorodu, Lagos, unfolds an aggressive programme of evangelisation to win three million more souls for Christ

The third edition of the Covenant of Peace Parish annual convention of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Ikorodu, Lagos, tagged ‘ Over to God’, took off penultimate Monday with many faithfuls counting the abundant blessings of God coming their way. Like the past two editions, miracles and wonders took place at the event. According to Olaitan Aromolaran, the host pastor of the church, the 21-day annual programme was packaged to bless members and everyone that attends the programme. He said the blessings many attending the programme have received since it began on Monday, January 9, have been showcased by the many testimonies people were giving.

Like in the 2011 edition, this year convention which is spiced with ministration, praise and worship and deliverance attracted reputable ministers of God and gospel evangelist.

Among the visiting ministers of God at the programme scheduled to end on Sunday, January 29, were Johnson Kalejaye, regional evangelist of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Region 11; Gbolahan Lawal, member of the Governing Council of the RCCG Incorporated; Oretayo Adetola, retired features editor of the defunct Daily Times and regional pastor of Region 11 of the Church; Peter Olowoporoku, General Overseer, Love of Christ Chapel International and Charles Kpandei. Foremost Juju musician turned evangelist Ebenezer Obey, and Sunny Ade, the king of juju music, were also there to spice up the soul winning programme with gospel music. The visiting men of God also ministered at the occasion and equally conducted deliverance for the afflicted.

Aromolaran told thousands of the congregation that God gave his ministry a target last year to win more souls and that the church was intending to reach out to three million people for the purpose of winning them to Christ. He said his ministry would soon embark on aggressive evangelism beyond the shores of Nigeria through the media, crusade, convention and door to door evangelism.

Apart from the ‘Over to God’ convention, other soul winning programmes in the church calendar lined up for the year includes ‘Why Men Slept’, which holds every Thursday and the “Joy Cometh” that takes place monthly in approved designated fellowship centres.

The Ikorodu parish of the church has witnessed significant transformation since 2009 when Aromolaran arrived there. From 200 members when he arrived there, the parish now boasts of over 2,000 members.
