Twelve customers emerge winners of the first set of draws in the UBA PLC Grand Slam promotion
The first set of winners in UBA PLC Grand Slam promo which commenced last August has emerged. Twelve customers drawn from the Northern and Southern branches of the bank won various prizes in the maiden draw of the promotion which took place at Bridgewater’s Suit, Enugu, recently.
Among items they won were two desktop computers and printers; two plasma television and home entertainment sets; two refrigerators and four PVR decoders and smartcards. Francis Ozoenema, a medical doctor at the University of Nigeria Teching Hospital, Ozalla, Enugu, who won a Samsung refrigerator was on hand to pick up his prize.
Speaking at the ceremony, Goddy Oki, regional bank head, East, explained that the promo was borne out of the need to continue to impact on the lives of UBA customers and alleviate poverty by encouraging saving habit and rewarding customers through promotions.
Celine Loader, director, marketing and communication, UBA PLC, said that the bank has a track record of rewarding loyal customers through its people-oriented promotions aimed at encouraging customers of the bank in one way or the other. "The bank appreciates the partnership and long standing relationship with them," she said.
To qualify for the Grand Slam Promo, Titilola Ajayi, group head, Retail Liability and Investment, UBA, said that a savings account holder needs to make a fresh deposit of a minimum of N30,000 into an existing account and keep it there for 30 days. New customers can also qualify for the bi-monthly draws by opening a savings account and depositing a minimum of N30,000 for 30 days.
The grand draw holds in Lagos. Three customers will go home as proud winners of a house, car and a generator worth N12 million each. Three others will become delighted owners of an ultra modern shop and 10 customer will take home 10 Toyota Yaris cars. There are consolation prizes of N30,000 each for 20 winners.
The Grand Slam Promo is the fifth in the series of savings promotion embarked upon by UBA. The previous ones were the Double Gain, Lion King Millionaire, Seven Wise Millionaire and Seven Wise Savers.
