Kebbi Governor Loses Dad

Adamu Suleiman Aliero, father of Adamu Aliero, Kebbi State governor, passes on
Adamu Suleiman Aliero, the father of Muhammad Adamu Aliero, executive governor of Kebbi State has passed on. He died September 9, aged 75, in a German hospital. Aliero was a renowned farmer and Islamic Scholar and was considered to be a repository of knowledge in Islamic history.
President Olusegun Obasanjo, in his condolence letter, described the late Aliero as a man imbued with sterling leadership qualities. Obasanjo noted that the death of a father brings such personal and singular anguish but urged Governor Aliero to take solace in his faith in God and the memory of the years of mutual devotion and care he shared with his late father. He said that the late Aliero exhibited admirable qualities during his life time and thanked God for his life.
While imploring Governor Aliero to continue to uphold the worthy values the deceased had bequeathed him, Obasanjo prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest and the family the courage to bear the loss.
Ibrahim Shekarau, the governor of Kano State said late Aliero left a worthy legacy having brought up and trained a dynamic leader in the person of Governor Aliero who has been selflessly serving the people of Kebbi State and making meaningful contribution to the socio-economic and political development of Nigeria.
Among the early callers at the governor's family house in Aliero to condole the Kebbi governor were Shehu Shagari, former Nigerian president, Aliyu Muhammed Gusau, former National Security Adviser, Ibrahim Babangida, former military president, Ahmad Sani, governor of Zamfara State, Abdulkadir Kure, governor of Niger State and Umaru Aliyu Shinkafi, an ANPP stalwart.
The deceased was buried in his hometown, Aliero, in Kebbi State September 10.
