ZAKARIYA’U: - Urbane professional

Niger Insurance Plc is like the River Niger in more ways than one.  The River Niger is one great river which flows across the length and breadth of Nigeria providing nourishment for its people and business.  Niger Insurance Plc in like manner, has succeeded in meandering its way through the entire landscape of Nigeria , touching her citizenry, assuring their future and gingering up prosperity.

What else can you expect from an insurance company which has worked tirelessly for over 38 years guaranteeing the wealth of Nigerians.  Like the great river, Niger Insurance Plc provides superior insurance services across Nigeria and beyond.

This is, indeed, not surprising in view of the fact that Niger Insurance Plc is in the top bracket of insurance firms in Nigeria which place high premium on its human resource base.  Insurance, it has been said, is a business requiring high integrity precision and higher ethical standing.

It is therefore not surprising that the board of directors of Niger Insurance Plc found in Bala Zakariya’u enough testimony to appoint him the Chief Executive Officer of the Company.

Since April, 1997 when Bala Zakariya’u took over Niger Insurance Plc as Managing Director, the big Niger , like River Niger has never flown backwards. It currently operates with a paid up share capital of N200 million.

The Company’s mission is to be a customer oriented provider of Superior Services, using well motivated employees and technology in a conducive working environment, thereby creating long term value for shareholders through sustained return on investment.  The Company had, effective from 1995, began a process of reforming its strategic policy for the years ahead, a process of restructuring and repositioning, designed as a response to the changes affecting its market.  Under this policy, capital is being allocated to business, products and markets where the company can excel, to the acquisition of improved data processing equipment (automation) all geared towards improved service delivery.
